What a great experience! For our Golden Wedding celebration we booked for a family Sunday lunch plus an overnight stay afterwards. What a great experience! Every member of the team - reception, serving, bar - went out of their way to make our lunch and stay memorable. Indeed some of the younger members of the serving team deserve a special mention! The food offer was generous, well prepared and presented and delicious. The (garden) room was lovely, clean and well presented with a lovely extra 'gift' celebrating our anniversary. Breakfast (as lunch the day before) was well prepared and presented and delicious. Plenty of choice with the hot dishes freshly made. Thank you to everyone.

Great lunch in St Albans We had Sunday lunch to celebrate our daughter’s engagement . Food and service outstanding . A special mention of Hepy who was a credit to the restaurant! She is just great !

Perfect anniversary meal! We had the most fabulous anniversary dinner here at The Manor. We had a gorgeous Sunday lunch - really good value for money. It was made all the more special by our waitress, Hepy - she was a delight! So kind and helpful and went out of her way to make the occasion really memorable (we had a ‘happy anniversary’ pudding!). The staff really made the experience - Hepy is fantastic :)

Must visit place outside of London Great area, beautiful place, peace and quiet, great staff, affordable prices. Highly recommend. Rooms are nice, have everything needed for a stay.

First class venue and staff We attended a wedding party for friends and we stayed overnight. The whole day was excellent; well organised, attentive, polite staff made it a fantastic event and the venue and surrounding gardens were wonderful. All of this was topped by a comfortable and homely room and a top class breakfast in the morning. We were very impressed with our whole experience. Thank you to all involved.

Just perfect in every way... Wonderful stay at our prefered hotel in St Albans. Its a beautiful building, tastefully decorated to preserve its rich history, that offers well appointed, comfortable rooms in an excellent location. I was treated to an incredible two course dinner that scored on every level, presentation, composition satisfaction, just bursting with flavour. I know from a previous stay that breakfast is equally wonderful with a wide selection of traditional and continental dishes. Service was faultless throughout, the reception staff so accommodating when it turned out we had an issue with our corporate booking, and Michaela at dinner looked after me like I was the only guest in the world, with endless smiles. Couldn't ask for more. I shall be booking in monthly for the foreseeable. Thank you so much.

Wonderful hotel and staff We stayed at St Michael’s for one night and wish we could have stayed longer! From the moment we checked in all staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, and we received an incredibly welcome upgrade to the Magnolia suite which was huge! The room was beautifully decorated, very clean and quiet with lovely views over the hotel grounds. We didn’t eat dinner at the hotel but breakfast was great, with a good buffet selection and hot dishes cooked on request (the vegan breakfast was amazing!). Again all the breakfast staff were friendly and very helpful. The location is also perfect, a five minute walk from the cathedral but on a quiet road and with a large car park. We’d definitely stay here again!
