St. Michael’s Manor hotel is located close to the city centre of St Albans, Hertfordshire, formerly the ancient city of Verulamium and near the famous Abbey Cathedral. Set in five acres of beautiful private English country gardens with its own one-acre piece of lake, this country house hotel in St Albans is, surprisingly, only 20 minutes by train from London.
The original house dates back over 500 years and was converted into a hotel in the early 1960s. St. Michael’s Manor still remains privately owned and managed, which gives the hotel its own unique flavour.
The 30 bedrooms are individually styled with a blend of classical and contemporary décor to create a relaxed yet elegant atmosphere. This welcoming feel is continued through to the lounge, bar, function rooms and highly-acclaimed restaurant. All public rooms, along with many of the bedrooms, have excellent views of the garden and lake.
Non-residents can also enjoy the restaurant, which offers a wide choice of dining options from full breakfast through to afternoon teas, dinners served in our restaurant, lounge or terrace. Our restaurant offers a fine dining experience in a beautiful, relaxed setting.
