The Macallan Whisky Tasting Evening

Join us for a relaxed and refined evening celebrating whisky, food and heritage at St Michael’s Manor Hotel.

In honour of Burns Night, The Macallan’s 200-year anniversary, and our 10th year under the Gunputh family, we’re hosting our very first whisky tasting evening in collaboration with The Macallan.

Set within our historic manor overlooking the lake, the evening will be guided by The Macallan Brand Ambassador, who will lead guests through a curated tasting of six single malt whiskies. Each whisky will be served individually and paired with chef-crafted bowl food, designed by Head Chef Nitin to complement and enhance the flavours of each expression.

This is a relaxed, flowing tasting experience rather than a formal dinner — perfect for whisky lovers and those curious to explore how food and whisky work together.

  • Live storytelling throughout the evening

Evening Format:

Guests will enjoy each whisky one by one, with food pairings served alongside, as The Macallan Brand Ambassador shares the history, craftsmanship and character behind every pour.

  • 6:30 PM – 7:00 PM, Arrival & welcome: Guests arrive to a welcome drink and canapés in the lounge. An introduction to the evening and a warm welcome to St Michael’s Manor Hotel.
  • 7:00 PM – 7:10 PM, The Macallan story begins: Our Macallan Brand Ambassador introduces the heritage of The Macallan, setting the scene for the tasting journey ahead.
  • 7:10 PM – 9:15 PM, Guided whisky & food pairing: A relaxed, flowing tasting experience featuring: – Six Macallan single malt whiskies, poured and served one at a time. – Six bowl food pairings, crafted by Head Chef Nitin to complement each whisky Each whisky is introduced by the Brand Ambassador, with food served alongside to highlight flavour, balance and craftsmanship.
  • 9:15 PM – 9:30 PM, Closing notes & final pour: Final reflections on the tasting, with time to savour the last pairing and ask questions.
  • 9:30 PM – 11:00 PM, Event close: An unhurried close to the evening in the comfort of the Manor.
